AN AFTERNOON IN FREMANTLE
There is no better way to welcome our warm spring weather than a day spent in the iconic Perth seaside town of Fremantle. Fremantle is more than just a busy port, offering an array of cafes, pubs and bars, boutiques, historic landmarks and, yes, beaches. Last week end I met up with a bunch of my favourite people to celebrate the birthday of super babe Donna.
We ended up at The Monk on 33 South Terrace, the coolest Sunday sesh location for lunch, ciders and chit chat. The best thing about The Monk is not their scrumptious menu or perfect location, but that it offers a quality grazing hole with a whole lot of character and sophistication, removed from the general riff-raff. I'd highly recommend their classic Steak Sandwich served with the best tomato relish I've ever tasted and seasoned frites.
After a few hours on South Terrace, we wandered down to High Street for a pick-me-up at Breaks Cafe. I don't know about you guys, but after a schooner of pear cider and a large meal, I am well and truly ready for an afternoon nap. Let's just say, a cappuccino was definitely on the cards (before I realised how badly my stomach reacts to the combination of alcohol and milky products). Breaks Cafe provides a very cool interior and great decent priced coffee.
There really is nothing like a day in the sun after a long wet winter (for Perth anyway), which is just a little sneak peek of things to come this summer.
Outfit post coming tomorrow!
