THE LITTLE COTTON DRESS

Is there anything more practical than a singlet dress? Wear it on a super duper hot summers day when all you want to do is wear nothing (let's be honest, it's inevitable); style it with a longline blazer and tights during winter; or in this case, slip it on with your favourite chambray shirt and fedora on a warm springs day. Heck, I even wore it as a top not so long ago.

I have to say, Lola vs Harper have killed it once again with their Sunshine Diamond Dress (you can't half tell I'm having a love affair with this kick ass Aussie label, eh?). It's everything I could ask for in a garment - simple and monochromatic with a little oomph; an understated detail that catches the eye.

I was going to talk about the incredible weather we're having here in Perth at the moment, but I can't even see one little patch of blue sky as I look outside my window. In saying that though, a 40+ degree day is forecast early next week, so I doubt this cloud will last.

On another note, I swear this post couldn't have taken me any longer to write. Brad and I are currently getting air-conditioning installed in our home (finally!), and the man-hole is in my study. Needless to say, it's not a particularly quiet job. But hey, who am I to complain? Especially when I'm sitting in-front of my iMac on the fourth consecutive 45-degree Celsius day, cool as a cucumber. To be honest, I don't think I could survive another stinking hot Australian summer without air-con.

PS. It's my birthday tomorrow! Feeling older by the minute (just jokes!).
