SUMMER SKIN WITH CLINIQUE
Summer to me is all about embracing our beautiful sunny weather as much as possible and there isn't a better way to do so than on our pristine Australian beaches. I've made a promise to myself this summer to take advantage of the fact that I live just a short drive to the beach (soon to be just a short walk, but more on that later!).
The one thing that often suffers from spending so much time out in the sun is our skin. As a natural redhead, I'm well aware of the fact that my complexion is more suited to the dreary colder months, but it doesn't mean I can't be as bronzed and glowing as every body else. I'll admit, I'm pretty lucky in the way that I don't burn easily and can actually attain some sort of tan (I'll show you my tan lines to prove it), thanks to my Dad's olive skin, though I'd much prefer to fake it than bake it, especially under our notoriously damaging sun.
This summer Clinique has stocked me up on a whole bunch of amazing products to get my skin beach ready. One of my favourite tanning products is definitely the Clinique Self Sun Body Tinted Lotion in Light/Medium, which applies without those dreaded patches or streaks. The Self Sun Tinted Lotion gave me an instant natural-looking tan, but also darkened over the next few hours after application. The only thing I could criticise is the unpleasant smell of the lotion, which fades quickly anyway. Despite this, I'd highly recommend adding the Clinique Self Sun Body Tinted Lotion to your summer skin regime.
I'll be the first to admit that I wear make-up to the beach, purely for the fact that I simply do not have flawless skin. In saying that, there is nothing worse than the feeling of your make-up melting off your face in the heat. I've recently started wearing the Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 and, oh my goodness, this stuff is the absolute best ever in the whole entire world. This Tinted Moisturizer has great coverage, yet still feels light and looks natural. I honestly can not vouch for this product enough, so much so that I've been using it as an everyday 'foundation' as well. I also use the Clinique True Bronze Pressed Powder Bronzer in Sunblushed (03) and Clinique High Impact Waterproof Mascara.
And finally, after a day out in the sun there is nothing more rejuvenating than lathering on the Clinique After Sun Rescue Balm with Aloe, especially if you've not slip-slop-slapped. I used this even if I have avoided getting burnt, as it is both refreshing and cooling, and great for your skin.
After Christmas, Clinique is offering you a special summer gift with the purchase of any two Clinique products (including one with SPF treatment) - a bright beach towel! Available at Clinique counters at Myer, David Jones and selected pharmacies.
What summer skin products do you swear by?
