THE FRENCH FOX

The most recent Australian heatwave had clearly melted all the common sense out of my head when pondering over how to style this French Connection Sequin Fox Tee, as my first inclination was to pair it with trashed black skinny jeans. It was a styling choice lacking intelligence, since it was indeed the middle of an almost-40-degree day, not to mention that I haven't actually worn a pair of jeans since late October(?).

Adding a touch of femininity with a flared hem skirt and signature 'tough girl' style with my favourite lace-up booties, it was certainly a styling decision I wouldn't have pursued without my initial lapse of intelligence. This year, I want to push the boundaries of how I'd usually style a piece, and this outfit is the epitome of what I want to accomplish. As our style evolves, shouldn't our styling?

And yes, I know what you're thinking; I swapped the skinny jeans for a leather jacket (hello stupidity!). I suppose it was just hopeful thinking that the sea breeze may just cool down the temperatures. It didn't, but damn does it look good.
