WHITE ON WHITE ON PINK

The fashion industry is brainwashing me to wear pink.
And I like it.
________

I, like so many of us, went through a pink phase circa mid high school. I had spent the majority of my childhood wearing tomboy threads, often consisting of zip-off cargo pants and my brother's hoodies. Then somewhere between Year 8 and Year 9, I swapped my black skater shoes for a pair of white and blue Galaz, and dark boyish threads for baby pink. They say that fashion is one big cycle, so I can't help but wonder if perhaps I'm back where I started, though I hope with just a little more style this time around.

Let's take a trip down memory lane, to April of last year to be exact. While my 'style' has stayed true (oversized coat, check; denim, check; and a rad pair of heels, check), the only notable change is the hue of said items and length of balayaged mane. But seriously, how much has my hair grown!? High-fives all 'round!

Back on subject, it seems that I've once again made the natural transition from boyish to feminine, a decade after the first, which was more than likely a decade after my rebellion against Mum's choice of pretty frilly dresses in the early 90s. But then again, the world of fashion is more than likely just brainwashing me (and probably you) to wear baby pink hues anew. And I like it.

I'm just going to go with it. And keep this coat in my wardrobe for when I'm in my mid-thirties, another decade down the track.
