My Bali Beauty Regime At The Balé Nusa Dua
My top five favourite Bali-approved beauty products,
for when cocktails by The Balé pool beckon.
________
When it comes to travel, I've always preferred to spend less time on my beauty regime and more time exploring. The Indonesian island of Bali, where tourists spend the majority of their time pruning away in bar-side pools, calls for a less is less policy when it comes to make-up. Even I found my face bare for a big chunk of the trip, with a layer of Nivea SPF 50+ from head to toe. Yes, I've upped-the-anti with 50+ sunscreen; we'll see who's laughing in 30 years.
But alas, with a tightly packed schedule for Lion in the Wild and a natural instinct to 'feel good' about ones appearance (don't deny it), I found myself utilising beauty products that easily created the look I desired without taking up precious cocktails-by-the-pool time. You feel me? So, I thought I'd share you my five favourite beauty products that I'd lugged from Perth to Bali. For that effortless glowing and dewy holiday skin, I showered with Frank (see here) and applied Red Earth Secret Potion Illuminating Skin Fluid to my cheekbones, bridge of nose and Cupid's bow. I also dabbed a little onto my upper chin and lower forehead using a clean sponge. Before applying my favourite Australis Colour Inject Mineral Lipstick in Ballet, I conditioned my lips with Red Earth's Lip Nectar, an Intensive Lip Renewal Polish (mwa-mwa!). And I can't forget a quick spray of IME Natural Perfume before heading out the door, for long lasting freshness to combat the humidity.
Admittedly, I consciously spent a little more time than needed prepping myself for busy days ahead. But then again, who wouldn't want to bask in this exquisite bathroom at The Balé, the size of a large master bedroom (no exaggeration required)? With indoor and outdoor showers, as well as a generous stone soaking tub, I admittedly used all three much more than needed. The sleek and stylish bathroom was not short on the smaller luxuries either, from frangipani bath oils and salts to lemongrass and sandalwood soaps, making our stay extra special. And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, upon sliding the double glass doors open, you'll find your private turquoise pool beckoning at your feet.
And this is when I hashtag #takemeback!
