Skin Test: The Body Shop Does Pomegranate
There's no denying the benefits of pomegranate for the skin.
________
I was really interested in trying The Body Shop's Pomegranate range, as it is said to be skin firming, as well as addressing the first signs of ageing. There's no deny that pomegranate is amazing for skin, whether it's digested or applied topically, so I was very excited to see the results.

THE POMEGRANATE VERDICT:
I was super surprised by The Body Shop Pomegranate Softening Facial Wash, in a really good way. The consistency reminds me of a mix of shampoo and conditioner (weird, I know), but don't let that put you off. Generally speaking, my favourite type of cleanser is milky or creamy, and the Softening Facial Wash is definitely creamy. I only needed a very small amount to thoroughly cleanse my face, as well as taking off my stubborn eye makeup. While it is a very simple cleanser, there is no doubting that this formula leaves skin silky smooth and soft to the touch, as well as giving it a beautiful fragrance afterwards.
As is the case with the majority of serums, a little goes a long way with the The Body Shop Pomegranate Firming Serum. While I haven't been using it for long enough to see any anti ageing effects, I adore the way it feels on my skin during and after application. It's very light and soaks in almost instantly.
Probably my favourite product of the pomegranate range, The Body Shop Pomegranate Firming Day Lotion SPF 15 is a much thicker substance than I expected from a lotion, which is something I personally really like. The reason I like it so much is that it is great for everyday wear, as it is SPF 15, yet sinks into the skin very quickly, like the serum. Once applied, there is a subtle sunscreen-like fragrance, but it doesn't bother me at all (better that than nothing, right?). Apart from the SPF factor, I really love how radiant my skin looks after application and how it serves as a really great base for makeup.
Just to prove how ditzy I can be, I actually applied The Body Shop Pomegranate Firming & Refreshing Eye Roll-On onto my lips before realising it's actually an eye treatment. What an idiot. Serves me right really for not reading the packaging first, huh? Hahaha! Oops!
Anyway, back to the product. I've been applying this one in the morning as it has quite a nice 'waking up' effect on my eyes, which kind of makes me feel less drowsy (perfect for these cold mornings). I feel like it reduces my early morning puffiness and brightens that under eye area just a little (I don't usually get super dark circles). Again, I haven't seen a huge difference in my fine wrinkles, but I look forward to using it more and will give you an update as I continue.
As somebody with typically dry skin, I love the idea of wearing a day cream, especially something that is going to aid in softening the appearance of my fine lines. While it doesn't contain SPF, The Body Shop Pomegranate Firming Day Cream his perfect for the days when I'm stuck inside at #litwHQ, which is almost everyday of the week (plus, my daily tinted moisturiser has SPF anyway). It smells insanely good (so damn yum) and my skin retains the moisture throughout the day, which make it a perfect daily winter product.
I have been really getting into night creams this winter, as they tend to be much richer than your typical day-to-day moisturiser and, as I've mentioned a trillion times before, my skin craves that extra hydration. The Body Shop Pomegranate Firming Night Cream has a delicious fragrance, like the Day Cream, and is incredibly hydrating. When I apply the cream before bedtime, I wake up with moisturised and plump looking skin. I'll definitely be adding this one to my beauty cupboard!
________
Overall, I would say this range isn't going to actually remove of any fine lines, but rather plump the skin temporarily or for as long as it is used, which does still 'soften' those lines. That isn't to say this isn't a great range though; I really liked how my skin glowed after applying the Serum and Day Lotion, and how wonderfully hydrated my face and neck felt when I woke up in the morning after using the Night Cream. I think this range is really great for those with combination/dry skin, as well as if you're looking to improve your complexion.
