Multi-Masking: Recharging Skin for the Week

My favourite face mask concoctions for glowing skin all week long.

Multi-masking is the latest skincare craze that has taken social media by storm. And you know what? While sometimes it looks a little weird (when does a mask not?), it actually makes sense. It's also a technique I've been using for some time now without even knowing it, heck, even before it had an actual name. My skin isn't the same all over, which is why using multiple masks at the same time just works. So, today I thought I would share with you my weekend multi-mask routine.

First things first, I apply a detox mask to my T-zone; my chin, nose and sometimes my forehead if I've got a few spots. My current go-to detoxifying masks are the Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask (and we already know how much I love this thermal mask for its warming sensation), the Sukin Super Greens Detoxifying Clay Masque (probably the most delicious smelling of them all) and the TruSelf Organics Detoxifying Mask. These are all really wonderful masks for drawing out impurities from pores, as well as soothing and calming; tick, tick and tick!

Since my cheeks can get a little dry, the Nip + Fab Bee Sting Fix Lifting Mask is great for plumping and hydrating. I also like to apply it to my neck, especially since our skin there is very delicate and needs some extra attention. It's often an area we forget when it comes to masks, so we shouldn't leave it out during our weekly pampering session. Nor should we leave out the delicate area under our eyes, which is when I bring up another go-to product I've mentioned here before, the Sephora Collection Eye Masks, product-packed eye treatment masks made for specific problems.

Any remaining areas, such as the forehead, I then cover with an oxygen mask for more luminous skin. I've recently started using the Sephora Detoxifying & Oxygenating Bubble Mask after hearing only wonderful things, and my goodness, I'm glad I did! It applies like a gel, then gently bubbles into a light foam and when wiped off reveals glowing, healthy-looking skin. This one is also good at cleaning out pores if you're not into clay masks, so is definitely suitable for the T-zone too.

The best thing about multi-masking is that there are no rules. While I like to use 3-4 masks each time, you can use as many or as little as you need, depending on your specific skin concerns and any problem areas you may have. Have you tried multi-masking yet? What are your thoughts on this new trend?
