8 Nail Polish Shades for Spring

The colour stories I'll be wearing on my nails this spring.
________

You know what? I actually think spring nail shades are my favourite, which is kind of strange since they're probably the most girly (and I try not to look any younger than I already do - ha!), but there is something so flattering about pretty pastels that have me wanting more and more. One look at my nail polish collection says it all with light shades dominating. Some people prefer warm shades or cool shades, I prefer pale shades, generally speaking of course. So, I wanted to share with you my absolute favourite nail polish shades that I'll be sporting over the next few months and beyond.
________

TOO COOL PASTELS

First in the lineup is the angelic blue Rimmel London 60 Seconds Super Shine Nail Polish in 853 Pillow Talk because who doesn't want nails that match our perfect spring skies? Looking closely, the formula is speckled with a beautiful shimmer, which gives it its heavenly appearance. And if you think it doesn't get any crisper than Pillow Talk, you'd be wrong with the minty fresh Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in 204 B Girl. The only thing better than the colour is that, while it needs a few coats, it dries ridiculously quick, as in, within less than a minute. There's nothing better than a quick drying polish for someone like me who clumsily smudges every manicure job ever (I am the worst, I swear).

Wrapping up my Too Cool Pastels category is none other than the OPI Nail Lacquer in I Cannoli Wear OPI, a very wearable pale grey with cool undertones. Honestly, this is probably one of my new favourite shades full stop. It's a nice alternative to the white polishes that have graced my nails constantly over the past few years (and some!), so expect to see this one a lot in future outfit posts.
________

PRETTY IN PASTELS

It's time for pastel pinks to make way for pretty purple shades. Well, okay, that's a lie for I had to include the Rimmel 60 Seconds Super Shine Nail Polish in 203 Lose Your Lingerie because it was just too stunning not to, but it's the lilacs that seem to be taking over spring. The Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in 230 All Chalked Up is a very pale purple that compliments any skin tone (and another formula that dries conveniently quick - booyah!). If you want something a little brighter though, then the lovely lilac OPI Nail Lacquer in Purple Palazzo Pants (seriously, how good are the OPI names?!) is the one for you.
________

NEUTRAL SHADES

Is there a complete nail polish collection without a couple of neutral shades? Hint: nope. Well, not in my humble opinion anyway. The OPI Nail Lacquer in Be There in Prosecco is another great creamy alternative to the trusty white polish, but the Rimmel 60 Seconds Super Shine Nail Polish in 500 Caramel Cupcake is the neutral shade that really surprised me. One swipe is all it took for me to fall for this warm colour that actually looks great next to my pale skin tone. I thought it would be too dark, but it is just perfect.
