I'm Back Into Gel Eyeliners

And here's why you should be too.
________

My love affair with the humble gel eyeliner begun back when I was at university when I spotted a friend with some killer black eyeliner. As it turned out, it was all thanks to the Maybelline EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black (and undoubtably her #eyelinergoals skill). And so, I waltzed my way straight to Priceline just moments later, only to find they had sold out of every shade except for Charcoal. Despite being the last shade I would usually wear, I fell in-love with the first swipe. Eventually I tracked down both Blackest Black and Brown, which I wore every single day. For no reason whatsoever, I found myself pushing them to the side and using liquid liner as my weapon of choice more and more until I'd completely forgotten about gel eyeliner. Oh, the tragedy!

Many years later, I picked up the Sigma Standout Eyes Gel Liner in Wicked and it proved to be a glorious return for the humble gel eyeliner. It has a much thinner consistency than the Maybelline liner, but is equally as dark and fabulous. It's an absolute breeze to apply as well with the Sigma E05 Eye Liner Brush and E65 Small Angled Brush from the Basic Eyes Brush Kit, so much so that I've been creating a cat eye every moment I could since rediscovering these amazing products. You can see the look I created with the Sigma Gel Liner during my 7 Day Makeup Challenge here.

I also got my hands on a fresh pot of the Maybelline EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black again during one of Priceline's notorious sales, so it's safe to say that the gel eyeliner is here to stay.

What is your favourite type of eyeliner? Gel, liquid, pencil?
