The Nail Shade That is Perfect for Hot Weather

It's a Piazza Cake in a Tangerine Tent. Please, let me explain.
________

Let's start this post with a little story, shall we? Last year, during our stay at The Shanti Residence with The Luxe Nomad, I enjoyed my very first professional manicure and pedicure ever (say whaaa?!). Forgoing my usual white polish, I chose a bright orange to celebrate the end of our wonderful tropical holiday. While I admit to being a little worried over my colour choice at the time (it was way out of my comfort zone), I couldn't stop looking at the brilliant warm shade for the next couple of weeks and I've adored an orange manicure ever since.

I'll be honest though, I feel like this vivid and sunny shade is somewhat out of place on a wintry day, but hey, each to their own (rock it if you own it ladies and gentlemen). I actually didn't think I'd be wearing it before summer, but since our hot weather has arrived early (it's another 30°C+ day today!), I figured it was time to stock up on a couple of new shades to match our sunlit days. After all, who doesn't like a few new nail polishes to welcome in a new season, even if it is a little early.

First up is the Rimmel London 60 Seconds Super Shine by Rita Ora in Tangerine Tent, which applies with a strong yellow base, but after two coats and a little drying time develops into a true orange. I just love how the 60 Seconds Super Shine Nail Polish feels once applied and dried; it's seriously smooth and shiny and all things fabulous (honestly, I find myself constantly stroking my nails like they're satin when I have it on). The Tangerine Tent shade is bold and eye-catching smothering all nails, but combined with the OPI 'I Cannoli Wear OPI', a light blue/grey/white shade that I raved on about in my Spring Nail Polishes article, it looks truly stunning.

If you prefer something a little darker though, then the OPI Nail Lacquer in It's a Piazza Cake is for you. This shade is a warm, deep orange hue that is perfect for summer or for those of you enjoying fall/autumn. As an Australian, it reminds me of our spectacular red Aussie outback, where this colour dust dominates the very hot and dry landscape. It's also a very flattering tone on all skin tones, so you really cannot go wrong with this OPI shade.
